OSI-Baltimore launched its Economic Justice portfolio in 2021 with the goal of increasing access to capital for communities of color and other historically underresourced people and groups in Baltimore and beyond. By providing seed funding that supports innovative approaches, this strategic investment area seeks to leverage Baltimore’s local and regional economy and creative market-based solutions in order to close the racial wealth gap. The funded initiatives will create mechanisms for social justice that will transform Baltimore’s economic and financial systems.
