The Wall Street Journal’s recent article, Prison vs. Harvard in an Unlikely Debate, covers the work of the Bard Prison Initiative and their inmate debate team. Leading up to a match with Harvard’s debate team, Bard team member Alex Hall said “If we win, it’s going to make a lot of people question what goes on in here. We might not be as naturally rhetorically gifted, but we work really hard.” (Bard won.)
Bard has created a number of innovate college programs, including the recently opened Bard High School Early College in Baltimore. The school, which is supported by OSI-Baltimore, will enable students to graduate in four years with both a high school diploma and a 2-year associate degree.
