This week, CLIA, (Community Law in Action) a nonprofit organization that aims to help young people become effective problem solvers, critical thinkers and advocates for positive change, announced it has merged with The Intersection, an organization dedicated to training students in leadership and organizing. The combined entity will operate under the CLIA name, and efforts of both organizations will “help to deepen our overall impact and support more youth in Baltimore, especially in light of the pandemic,” said Ryan Turner, CLIA’s executive director, who will continue to serve in that role.
By merging efforts and resources, the organization will ultimately be able to engage more youth, increase operational efficiency, and deepen its impact.
CLIA is a current OSI-Baltimore grantee and was founded in 1998 by Terry Hickey, one of the first OSI-Baltimore Community Fellows. The Intersection was co-founded by Baltimore City councilman Zeke Cohen.
