This morning, WYPR’s On the Record with Sheilah Kast began it’s annual series of profiles of the new cohort of OSI-Baltimore Community Fellows!
The first segment includes Kast’s interview with Pamela King, director of OSI’s Community Fellowships Program, and 2016 OSI Community Fellow Gianna Rodriguez, founder of Baltimore Youth Arts.
In the second segment, Kast interviewed Alphonso Mayo, a 2019 OSI Fellow and founder of Mentoring Mentors, a program in which kids in middle school are paired with high school students, who are paired and connected with young adults who have completed high school and ideally college. The goal is to create a pipeline of African-American mentors helping African-American youth in Baltimore City. He is pictured above with one of the middle school students who participate in the program at Windsor Hills Elementary Middle School at the program’s holiday party.
