Darlene Crider, a former Baltimore Police Officer, 2015 OSI-Baltimore Community Fellow, and founder of “Sisters-in-Law,” was included in the Baltimore Sun’s list of “25 Women to Watch in 2019,” released over the weekend. As the Sun wrote, “Crider retired in 2008 from the force but is still mentoring youth. She’s opened Sister in Law Inc., where girls can get a meal and homework help, and join in other activities in Oliver. All too often the girls don’t receive the basics at home, she said. ‘They all just want to be loved and heard.'”
Also included on the list were Rachel Micah-Jones, director of Centro de los Derechos del Migrante, a member of OSI-Baltimore’s Leadership Council, and moderator of OSI’s Talking About Race event on “Rights for Domestic Workers,” and Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa, who spoke to OSI-Baltimore’s Leadership Council last month.
