Community Law in Action, a nonprofit organization that aims to help young people become effective problem solvers, critical thinkers and advocates for positive change recently named Ryan Turner as its new executive director. The organization is a current OSI-Baltimore grantee and it was founded in 1998 by Terry Hickey, one of the first OSI-Baltimore Community Fellows. Hickey is now director of the Mayor’s Office of Human Services.
“It gives me great pleasure to join an august group of youth and adult changemakers who are committed to positively changing the climate of our communities through leadership, advocacy and public policy,” Turner said in a public Facebook post. “Baltimore stands at the precipice of something truly great. It will take intentional efforts from committed communities to actualize our greatness. I look forward to serving the youth and communities of this city with pride and integrity.
