Last week, OSI grantee Baltimore Action Legal Team (BALT) joined other organizations, including Open Justice Baltimore (OJB) and the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection (ICAP) at Georgetown University Law Center to challenge the rule of prohibiting the publication of court recordings. The challenge stems from a court order filed by local journalist Justine Barron asserting that Baltimore City court officials violated a state rule which requires them to provide public access to audio recordings of court proceedings.
