In December, the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement announced that they will devote more than $1 millon in American Rescue Plan Act money into implementation of the OSI- supported Healing City Act, which aims to address the causes of trauma in Baltimore City by helping government support the health of children and families, confront injustice, and prevent violence.
OSI-Baltimore has worked closely with City Council member Zeke Cohen on this initiative. Cohen, who is the author of the Healing City Act, wrote in his announcement of the investment, that he is grateful for the investment from Mayor Scott and feels “an enormous sense of urgency to move this work forward.”
