Last night, 12 Baltimore City mayoral candidates, including Jack Young, Sheila Dixon, Brandon Scott, Thiru Vignarajah, Mary Miller, and Catalina Byrd, shared true, personal stories about overcoming adversity at last night’s Blueprint for Baltimore Virtual Stoop Mayoral Forum, which was viewed by more that 2.6 thousand people. You can watch it in full here:
It will also be broadcast on WYPR on Tuesday evening, May 26th, at 8pm.
In addition to candidate stories, the event featured musical guests Dizzy Spellz (at about the 21-minute mark) and Caleb Stine (at about the 42 minute mark) and segments about the Blueprint for Baltimore project (at the 26-minute mark) and a pitch for the Party at the Mailbox packages (at about the 47-minute mark – get your box now!).
OSI, Baltimore Votes, Black Girls Vote, the No Boundaries Coalition, and other members of the Baltimore Votes coalition have been collaborating on a series of events and projects to increase awareness about the upcoming election and get people excited about voting. You can see our recent PSAs here.
OSI, Baltimore Votes, and Black Girls Vote also released a statement on Tuesday about the delayed delivery of ballots to Baltimore City. A representative from the State Board of Elections agreed to participate in a public forum this afternoon to respond to the statement and explain the steps that the Board is planned to take to address our concerns. The Board has already announced that, in response to our concerns, it will add ten drop boxes locations in the city and two additional in-person voting locations.
