OSI-Baltimore is co-sponsoring a training event with Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland and others on Friday, March 8 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
Representing Asylum-Seekers: Model Hearing Edition will include sessions focusing on how to represent children and families applying for asylum while in removal proceedings and a presentation from the Court and a series of model hearings with Assistant Chief Immigration Judge Jack Weil.
The training is part of OSI-Baltimore’s Safe City Baltimore initiative, which provides funding for organizations working to educate immigrant communities about their rights and to provide legal counsel for individuals with viable claims to remain in the United States and for immigrants facing deportation proceedings
