This week, 2016 OSI Community Fellow LaMarr Shields speaks to singer and activist Ayanna Gregory on his “SoundBalming” podcast.
Sheilds — who developed the Teacher Exchange, an innovative strategy to engage young people in their own education by having them act as coaches to new teachers as part of his fellowship – began the social change podcast this spring. His first episode featured fellow 2016 OSI Community Fellow Eliseba Osore, who is the program director of ShareBaby, an organization that provides clothing, diapers, strollers, and other basic goods to organizations that serve families in need.
Other past guests have included Emmy Award-winner talk show host Mario Armstrong, noted cinematographer Hans Charles, and Mildred Muhammad, the ex-wife of DC sniper John Allen Muhammad, who talked about the link between domestic violence and mass shootings.
