MICA’s Community Art and Service Program and the Philadelphia-based People’s Papers Co-OP initiative will co-present a community discussion “that brings together individuals from across the city who work to dismantle systems of oppression and narratives that feed into mass incarceration.”
From the event page: “We’ll ask; How do artists, activists, and community members collaborate to identify creative solutions and sustainable change? And, can art be used to create change?”
Among the panelists for this discussion are 2016 OSI Community Fellow Gianna Rodriguez, founder of Baltimore Youth Arts, 2015 OSI Fellow Dave Eassa, manager of community engagement at the Baltimore Museum of Art, and Nicole Hanson, Executive Director of OSI grantee Out 4 Justice.
