Unified Efforts, the program started by 2016 OSI-Baltimore Community Fellow, Deborah Ramsey, will hold several violence reduction and bullying prevention activities with K-12 students as part of the organizations “24/7 Bullying Prevention Awareness Campaign.”
As part of her fellowship, Ramsey, who is a retired police officer, established the Penn North Violence Prevention Youth Center in West Baltimore to formalize and expand the free violence prevention programs she had been doing since she left the force in 1994.
This summer, Unified Efforts hosted a free out-of-school time youth violence prevention program in the Penn-North Community. The program’s summer included free indoor swimming lessons, cooking for nutrition classes, art, music, introduction to aviation and aerospace museum visits, nature center visit, free dental screenings, golf, soccer among other offerings.
The program is also gearing up to publish the fall edition of I Belong Magazine. Click here to access the most current issue.
