This summer, OSI-Baltimore, with support from BGE, partnered with Johns Hopkins Center for Adolescent Health and YouthWorks to fund a Summer Youth Leadership Institute for Baltimore City Public Schools students. During the 5-week program, students examined aspects of school climate, attended workshops on financial literacy, public speaking, and workforce readiness skills.
Eighty students had the opportunity to participate, with five BCPS high schools serving as host sites, including Academy for College and Career Exploration (ACCE), Achievement Academy, Forest Park High School, Frederick Douglass High School, and Patterson High School. Read more about the program on the Center for Adolescent Health’s blog post.
Earlier this summer, OSI hosted soft-skills training for educators as part of the Leadership Institute curriculum.
