In April, Craig Rocklin joined Open Society Institute-Baltimore as Director of Development. Rocklin comes to OSI with nearly thirty years of professional fundraising experience in the Baltimore/Washington area. Prior to joining OSI, he was the Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations at George Mason University School of Policy, Government and International Affairs.
While he has worked with more traditional NGOs, such as the American Red Cross, Rocklin has also worked at several advocacy organizations, including the Children’s Defense Fund, where he was a Senior Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, the Human Rights Campaign, where he was Deputy Director for Planned and Major Gifts, and the Maryland Food Committee, where he was Director of Development & Marketing. He has also served as a long-term volunteer with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and currently serves on the board of LearnServe International, an organization that trains young people to pursue their interests in social entrepreneurship.
Rocklin received his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, and just completed his master’s degree in Organization Development and Knowledge Management at George Mason University. He is happy to be returning to his hometown to raise funds for social justice work.
